Oh my gosh, he was SUCH a breath of joyful fresh air! I always loved their music, but didn't become the crazed obsessed fan I am now until I caught a clip of them on Youtube from their first time on Ed Sullivan, and within 5 seconds of watching Paul, I was caught hook, line and sinker. And then two months after seeing that clip, he came to my city where I got to see him perform, and there was definitely no going back after that :)
It's so sad to think he felt embarrassed and put down so much that he had to hold back, especially sad if that was due to the way John treated him. Because when he doesn't hold back, he's the sun - all radiance and warmth and genuineness.
